Day 7 (New York, NY)

The time has come for us to leave the "Sweetest Place on Earth" and head to the "Big Apple"!!!

We couldn't leave Hershey, PA without the World's Largest Hershey's Bar!!! I wonder where we could be taking this???

Nique was jamming to the Gospel this morning... The boy loves the Lord!!!

Somebody just had to stop by Cracker Barrel today for breakfast... well actually two somebody's... I'm not going to mention any names... (MOTHER AND SON)

We are definitely in an Empire State of Mind!!!

I know we are up North and things are more expensive here but I was too upset when I read that we had to pay $12 to go through the toll from New Jersey to New York, we just paid $2.15 for the last toll just a few feet away.  What a way to make money.

Approaching New York City through the Lincoln Tunnel!!!

Skyscrappers... taxis....large billboards... Must be New York!!!!!

Our new home for the next 3 nights, the Marriott Marquis is located in the heart of Time Square

Nique likes to stay on the high floors, so we got a room on the 24th floor!!! Right above the State-of-the-art Fitness Center, who wouldn't want to workout here...

The view of Times Square from our room.

NY Subway, now here's a new experience, they are all underground.
Taking the Subway to the 9/11 Memorial, had to ask for assistance but we are on our way!
We made it.  9/11 Memorial
Dad, Dominique & Mom taking in the view of the new 9/11 Memorial Pool
Wow!  Look at all the names of the people who lost their lives on that day.
Nique is amazed by the size of the Memorial Pool and wanted to know if the buildings were the size of this space before they fell and the answer is YES.
There's a peaceful calm in this place even though it's full of visitors.

I couldn't believe dad put on this Jelly Belly shirt but it was a hit in New York.  Everywhere we went people were complimenting him on this shirt, I guess "Father Knows Best."
You can't go to New York and not stop and buy a hot dog from a Street Vendor.

Here we go again, face to face with Secret Service and NYPD.  Why is SS in New York City and who are they protecting here?
Well look who's walking out of Spider Man on Broadway, Malia Obama (she has on the shorts) and we saw our First Lady, Michelle Obama, she got into the truck before we could snap her picture.

Mrs. Obama is sitting in the back of this truck (sorry we couldn't provide a clear picture but take our word, it's her and it was a thrill seeing her here.  What's  funny is that when we were in D.C. Erika kept saying, "Wouldn't it be nice to see Michelle and the girls" we knew we wouldn't see the President, so we hoped for the first family and in the words of Erika, "Look At God".
Dinner tonight was Great!

The locals told us to stop by Dallas BBQ for some good food and they did not lie.  Good Food Indeed!
Here's a full view of our hotel.  It is so awesome how they use every building as a billboard for advertisement.
Lloyd & Nique point to the various adveristments stacked along side a building.

Here's Erika posing with the Tin Man, only in New York can you paint yourself gray and charge people to take pictures with you.
Time Square at night.  This city never sleeps, people are everywhere.
Stopped by the M&M store and saw the Green M&M dressed as the Statue of Liberty.
